Altragrips get their grip from 48 tiny, tough, long-lasting tungsten carbide studs that line the soles (24 on each overshoe).
Altragrips can be ordered with studs in two lengths... 1mm and 2mm.
Altragrips do not have to be removed when going indoors or when driving when ordered with the low profile 1mm studs because both the studs and treads make contact with the surface giving you traction on ice and snow as well as smooth dry and wet surfaces.
