Grip-X Ice Cleats and AltraGrips Lite High Profile (HP) Ice Cleats have a lot in common.
- They both give you great traction on ice, packed snow, deep snow and slush because they have 2mm tungsten carbide spikes and aggressive treads..
- They're both easy to put on and take off because they have the patented Dual Density Design and Dual Pull Tabs.
- They're both easy to use because they have the patented heel spike.
The difference is that the Grip-X Ice Cleats have replaceable spikes and the AltraGrips High Profile don't. So you may ask why anyone would buy the AltraGrips High Profile which will wear out more quickly. The main reason is comfort.
Any ice cleats with replaceable spikes have slight bulges where the spike is attached. Those bulges can become uncomfortable for people who are on their feet for hours at a time. So if you are on your feet long periods of time you may want to choose AltraGrips HP Ice Cleats over the Grip-X. If you're primary use will be to be outside for shorter periods of time you should probably go with the Grip-X Ice Cleats and get more years of use. |
