Grip-X™ are industrial strength ice cleats. But you don't have to be on the job to us them. That's because some of the better known ice cleats will give you excellent traction but just don't have the durability to stand up to daily or industrial use. The consumer grade ice cleats are OK if you resign yourself to replacing them every year or two or... in some cases... after a single use. But a lot can happen while your waiting for the replacements to arrive. If you go in and out of doors frequently you definitely want a product that's easy and quick to put on and take off your shoes and boots.
That's because... as is the case with any extremely aggressive ice cleats... you have to take them off when you go indoors because they're going to damage your floors. Although Grip-X are rock solid and stay on your shoes extremely well I highly recommend getting the ankle straps. If there is one thing I've learned over the years selling ice traction devices is that there always seems to be a way of walking out of ice traction devices in a deep wet snow. Grip-X are too expensive lose and the ankle straps are a good investment.
