Perfect for delivery drivers!
Altragrips ice cleats are available as overshoes and shoe attachments and in models Low Profile or High Profile tungsten carbide spikes. Both versions give you excellent traction on ice. Traction in other conditions is shown in the table below. If you're outdoors most of the time...not constantly going in and out of buildings...don't have to drive with them...you'll want the High Profile spikes because the more aggressive the spike the better the traction and the longer spike lasts longer. But I want to emphasize how the Low Profile Altragrips offer you advantages in icy and snowy conditions in city environments I haven't found in any other ice cleats.

  • You don't have to take Altragrips off when you go indoors. If you walk normally...obviously not deliberately twisting or grinding your shoe...the spikes won't damage the floor because they're Low Profile and have a larger diameter. You get traction on a regular floor because the rest of the sole is also making good contact. This is a huge advantage over other ice cleats that you have to remove before going indoors because they'll either damage the floor or be extremely slippery on dry smooth surfaces...like the floors typically found in the drug or grocery store. So if you live and work in the city a delivery person constantly going in and out of doors Altragrips are perfect for you.
  • You don't have hassle of putting your ice cleats on after you're outdoors where many times there's no place to sit down and doing it while standing up can be difficult no matter how easy they are to put on. This is particularly important for older people. You can put them on in the comfort of your home or office and just let them on.
  • Altragrips give you good traction on all the surfaces you're likely to encounter in an urban setting. Traditional ice cleats, no matter if they're spiked or spikeless, are slippery on smooth surfaces not covered with ice and snow. That includes manhole covers and sewer grates which are often located right where you step off the curb. If you live in a city like Washington. DC many times you'll encounter marble or granite surfaces which can be extremely slippery when you're wearing ice cleats if not covered with ice and snow.
  • Delivery Truck Driver image
Being able to drive safely with Altragrips is a big advantage over competing ice cleats.
You can drive safely wearing low profile Altragrips. Obviously this is ideal for anyone driving a delivery truck. Now picture yourself parallel parked opening your door into traffic while attempting to put on your ice cleats! Neither that nor getting out of your car without putting them on is very good. With Altragrips the problem goes away.
  • Altragrips are extremely high quality, professional grade ice cleats. That's because they're made from the highest quality materials like durable industrial grade PVC and incredibly long-wearing tungsten carbide spikes. You'll also note the quality of an American manufactured product the second yo pick it up. That's why they're more expensive than most consumer grade ice cleats. But the added convenience and applicability to an urban setting or for delivery people far exceeds the additional cost. It's a matter of getting the right tool for the job.
